I’m Julia, a mum of two and an independent consultant for families whose children need extra support and would benefit from a more personalised approach to learning.

I have worked in the field of ABA for the last 13 years and prior to that, as a teacher overseas. I love working with children and their families, and I’m passionate about education and how I can facilitate learning.

Since 2014 I have worked as an independent ABA consultant - a role that has allowed me to work closely with families, using my knowledge and experience to create programmes that are tailored to the needs of their children and to the family as a whole.

I’ve always been interested in the science of learning and studied psychology as part of my honours course at university. I first had the opportunity to apply the theory in an educational setting whilst teaching English to children in Japan and later, as a tutor at The Rainbow School - an independent school and charity for children with autism (now known as Beyond Autism).  It was whilst in Japan that I decided that I wanted to support children with learning difficulties and through tutoring at The Rainbow School, I was able to gain valuable experience working with children on the autistic spectrum, as well as broadening my knowledge base and developing leadership and training skills.

During this time I qualified as a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst, and after completing my master’s degree, qualified as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst in 2012.

During my career I have worked with plenty of characters! Be it pre-schoolers, primary or secondary aged children. I have also played, taught and developed programmes for children who communicate verbally, or through alternative communication methods like sign language and PECS.
